Guptill 237*Guide New Zealand to 393 in Knock Out Stage

Toss New Zealand chose to bat v West Indies

Brendon McCullum won the toss and New Zealand will bat first in their quarter-final against West Indies in Wellington. It will be the first time New Zealand have set a target rather than chasing since the first match of their campaign against Sri Lanka more than a month ago.

"Runs on the board can be quite valuable in these sorts of situations," McCullum said. The wicket looks really good." As expected, New Zealand made one change, with Adam Milne to replace Mitchell McClenaghan after missing the win over Bangladesh with a shoulder injury.

But the big inclusion for the match was Chris Gayle, who missed West Indies' final group victory over UAE due to a back injury. Gayle and Sulieman Benn have been named in the West Indies side to replace Dwayne Smith and Kemar Roach.

New Zealand 1 Brendon McCullum (capt), 2 Martin Gupill, 3 Kane Williamson, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Grant Elliott, 6 Corey Anderson, 7 Luke Ronchi (wk), 8 Daniel Vettori, 9 Tim Southee, 10 Trent Boult, 11 Adam Milne.

West Indies 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Johnson Charles, 3 Lendl Simmons, 4 Marlon Samuels, 5 Denesh Ramdin (wk), 6 Jonathan Carter, 7 Darren Sammy, 8 Andre Russell, 9 Jason Holder (capt), 10 Jerome Taylor, 11 Sulieman Benn.
